Great Zimbabweans is a personal portrait project by photographer Hannah Mentz, featuring forty incredible Zimbabweans – people who epitomise the diversity, talent, creativity, kindness and entrepreneurship for which Zimbabweans are known for. As well as showcasing well-known Zimbabweans, the project also shines a light on important work being done at a grassroots level as well as highlighting the plight of those who have had to flee the country for political and economic reasons. Great Zimbabweans focuses on stories that show the world that Zimbabweans are a nation of unique and talented people and most importantly, a people who have not lost hope, even in the face of adversity and many years of struggle.
